Kursbeschreibung
In this course, artist and urban sketcher Danny Hawk will share his tips and tricks for sketching Berlin places and buildings with ink and watercolor. It will take place indoors at our new Modulor Studio and will provide you with a basic understanding of how ink drawings and watercolor can be combined to create sketches rich in contrast, depth and texture. After warm up exercises that focus on techniques such as line work, layering and creating shadows with watercolor, you will be able to apply these newly-learned skills to places in Berlin under the guidance of the instructor through photos provided as reference material (you are also welcome to bring your own photos). The selected images will focus on architecture and nature and will be from Berlin and its surroundings.
This course is geared towards beginners with previous experience and advanced sketchers who would like to try new techniques, although participants of any level are welcome to join.
The workshop will be held in english.

Danny Hawk
Profil: Danny Hawk is an American-born urban sketcher, ink and watercolor artist currently living in Berlin. Hawk studied International Relations and German and for 10 years art played only a minor role in his life. But after traveling the globe and visiting over 40 countries, Danny wanted to bring back more from the places he visited than just photos. In 2017 he started urban sketching and today can hardly imagine travelling without a sketchbook. Danny´s artwork is characterized by his attention to detail an his love for architecture and nature. His courses are in Englisch and German.
